About Us

Those were the days

J.H. Rumball and brother Chris Rumball, soon after Cedar Laine began operations in 1988.

Cedar Laine Restoration started out, and remains, a family-owned and operated business.

Founded as a wood care product retailer operating from the newly-built log home of Chris and Suzanne Rumball in 1988, Chris soon realized that he had found a nitch with his attention to detail, love of wood and passion for environmental stewardship.

Today Cedar Laine Restoration is located in Muskoka, where Chris and Suzanne and their team are known for the exeptional quality of their work, as well as their honesty and forthrightness.

Products and Services

Cedar Laine uses a variety of methods to restore wood, from biodegradable corn cob to sand, glass or soda, taking care to recycle products wherever possible.

Clients can choose translucent to opaque finishes, custom colours or matching existing finishes in a wide range of colours. Cedar Laine Restoration also offers chinking services to seal drafts, discourage insects, prevent mildew and increase energy efficiency.

Due Diligence

Chris and Suzanne take care to see that when you do business with Cedar Laine Restoration, everyone is protected. The company, which is registered with the Canada Revenue Agency, has $5 million liability insurance, full WSIB coverage, and all employees undergo a police check. In addition, contracts are written and signed for every job.

They work hard to see to it that their clients say “Awesome Job!” The proof is in the pudding. More than half of Cedar Laine’s projects in 2011 came from repeat customers.
