Sunshield developing new colour for Cedar Laine

Colour trends aren’t just about clothing. Paint manufacturer Sunshield is in the process of developing a new custom colour, just for Cedar Laine Restoration.

“We made the request and they were happy to do it,” said Cedar Laine’s Chris Rumball. “We want to be able to offer our clients a different look.”

They expect to hear back any week now. Stay tuned to see what all the cool homes and cottages will be wearing next season.

Moving into Metal II: The big reveal

We were recently been asked to restore some metal stairs, an assignment that has opened a whole new door for Cedar Laine Restoration. The before and after is quite dramatic.

Good as new: Metal staircase restored by Cedar Laine Restoration.

“The materials are different but the process is quite similar,” notes Cedar Laine owner Chris Rumball. “We sandblast instead of cob blasting, and the paint is of course designed for a metal rather than a wood finish, but we’re getting really good results.”

Good as new: Quite an improved first impression for a client coming to this establishment for the first time.

September 2011 — You know us for wood restoration. Well increasingly we’re being asked to restore metal.

Here’s a before picture, of some metal stairs that have become rusted and unsightly with years of wear, weather and salt.

New season, new profile, new website

Hi everyone,

Happy summer! We’re pleased to see some good, dry weather coming up. Brightens the mood and makes our work easier here at Cedar Laine Restoration.

We got some great press this spring. Have a look at an article we had published recently in What’s Up Muskoka.
